Our Community Impact Partners in Colombia
ASOFINCAS
Colombia · Small coffee producers' association
Who they are. ASOFINCAS is an association of smallholder coffee farmers in Colombia. Its member families grow, harvest and process coffee on their own small farms, and work together so that coffee can support their homes, their land and their community.
Why we fundraise. Small coffee farmers do the hardest work in the cup but keep the smallest share of its value. The funds raised through your coffee help ASOFINCAS:
- Improve livelihoods for member families who depend on their harvest.
- Promote sustainable agriculture that protects the soil, water and future harvests.
- Strengthen the local coffee supply chain, so more of the coffee’s value stays with the farmers who grow it.
CORPOCADES
Cali, Colombia · Food-security garden for 50 children at Fundación Dar Esperanza
Who they are. CORPOCADES (Corporación Centro de Acompañamiento para el Desarrollo Empresarial, Social y Solidario) is a non-profit organization in Cali, Colombia. Since 2010 it has run social, educational and community-development programs with vulnerable people.
Why we fundraise. With CORPOCADES, we are raising funds for a food self-sufficiency garden at Fundación Dar Esperanza, a home in the hills outside Cali for 50 children and young people aged 8 to 17 who have been displaced, abandoned or affected by violence. Today, a 500 m² hillside lot at the foundation suffers from erosion, poor drainage and flooding. The project will turn it into a productive vegetable garden, with 250 m² for growing. Your coffee helps fund:
- Terraces and erosion control: levelled terraces held in place with treated bamboo to stabilize the slope.
- Healthy soil: compost and rice husk to turn hard, rocky ground into fertile growing beds.
- Water: a 1,000-litre tank and gravity-fed drip irrigation.
- Tools and hands-on training: an agricultural lead who teaches the children to plant, make compost, care for crops and harvest.
The goal: fresh vegetables for the children’s meals, lower food costs for the foundation, and practical skills for life and work. The project runs over four months, with a total budget of COP 38.2 million.

Seeds of Change Educational Foundation
Kabale District, Uganda · Education for 300+ children at Musamba Primary School
Who they are. Seeds of Change Educational Foundation is a grassroots education initiative run and supported by volunteers in Alberta, including a retired Canadian educator with more than 40 years of experience. It supports Musamba Primary School, on a remote mountaintop in Uganda’s Kabale District, where more than 300 children aged 4 to 16 walk kilometres up steep mountain paths, or cross Lake Bunyonyi, to get to class.
Why we fundraise. The school has no electricity or running water, so students carry water up the mountain every day. Its seven classrooms can’t hold everyone, so many classes meet in the chapel or outdoors, and many children arrive without shoes, food or basic school supplies. The funds raised through your coffee help provide:
- Basic school supplies: notebooks, pencils, erasers and paper for every student and teacher.
- Sanitary supplies, so older girls can attend school consistently.
- Medical treatment for the head fungus that is common among students because of poor water.
- Healthy meals and snacks to fight hunger and food insecurity.
Longer term, the foundation is working on a uniforms and footwear program using local resources, health care for parasites and fungal infections, and teaching materials and training for teachers.
